My name is Rick Gibbs.  I’ve been very lucky to have been employed for over 30 years in a variety of jobs and industries with very few interruptions.  Although I may not have recognized it at the time, each of my jobs, from cutting grass, to bagging groceries, to managing people, to becoming a human resources professional provided me with a lot of important lessons.  I have always been fascinated with human behavior, particularly when we band together to accomplish something.

Today, I work in New York City,  helping small businesses and their employees find success by providing and enhancing skills using the latest tools in training and development.

It’s no secret that the world is changing and what worked in the past won’t necessarily work in the future.  The very nature of work is changing right before our eyes.  Someone told me once that when you’re confused or stressed to write down your thoughts to help work things out.  I’m not sure she meant to go public with the thoughts, but what better way to engage with others who might have the same questions?  This blog is intended to be a platform for discussion about making our way through this fascinating new world.
